Ordering Decimals is about comparing numbers with digits after the decimal point in NSW Year 7 maths (NESA outcome MA4‑FRC‑C‑01). Give the numbers the same number of decimal places, then compare place value from the left: the first digit that differs decides, so \(0.405\) is larger than \(0.4\).
You will read decimals on a number line, put positive and negative decimals in ascending and descending order, mix in fractions and percentages by changing them all to decimals, and avoid the common slip of thinking \(0.25\) beats \(0.3\). Race times and frosty morning temperatures give real lists to sort. It is part of Year 7 Decimals.
