Parallel and Perpendicular Lines

Theory + worked examples
Parallel lines never meet, and perpendicular lines meet at a right angle. This NSW Year 7 maths subtopic (NESA outcome MA4‑ANG‑C‑01) covers the symbols \(\parallel\) and \(\perp\), the arrow and right-angle marks on diagrams, and what a transversal is.
You will decide whether two lines are parallel, perpendicular or just intersecting, read statements such as \(AB \perp CD\), spot parallel and perpendicular sides in rectangles and shapes on grid paper, and use a right angle to find a missing angle. Railway tracks and the corners of a page are everyday examples. This subtopic is part of Year 7 Angles.
