Equation Problems puts solving skills to work on worded questions. In NSW Year 7 maths (NESA outcome MA4‑EQU‑C‑01) you turn a story into an equation, solve it and give the answer in words.
You will define a pronumeral with its units, write the equation, solve it with inverse operations and check the result against the question. Problems include ticket prices, buses filled equally with students, rectangle perimeters and areas, and formulas such as \(V = LBH\) or a weekly profit rule for a store. This subtopic is part of Year 7 Algebra and Equations.
