Time problems combine several time skills in one real situation where a start time, a finish time or a length of time is missing. This NSW Year 7 maths subtopic consolidates primary-school time work with longer, multi-step questions.
You will draw a time line and count on or back, find the latest start time to meet a deadline, count the gaps between repeated events, work out pay from hours and minutes, count back years and months to a birth date, and allow for a time zone. Planning a morning before school or cooking a roast are typical examples. This subtopic is part of Year 7 Ratios, Rates and Time.
