Each special quadrilateral has its own set of facts about its sides, angles, diagonals and lines of symmetry. This NSW Year 7 maths subtopic (NESA outcome MA4‑GEO‑C‑01) brings these properties together and uses them to solve problems.
You will match a shape to a list of properties, see that a square or rhombus keeps every property of the shapes above it, use facts such as "the diagonals of a rhombus cross at right angles" to find lengths and angles, and give a reason for each step. Builders check that a frame is rectangular by measuring its diagonals. It is part of Year 7 Geometry.
