Every probability lies between 0 and 1. This NSW Year 7 maths subtopic (NESA outcome MA4‑PRO‑C‑01) links numbers on that scale to the words impossible, unlikely, even chance, likely and certain.
You will place events on a probability scale, compare probabilities given as fractions, decimals and percentages by changing them all to decimals, and see that the chances of all the outcomes add to 1. Rolling a 7 on a die (impossible) and drawing the one white marble from a jar of 100 (very unlikely) are typical examples. This subtopic is part of Year 7 Probability.
