Ordering Integers is about deciding which of two integers is larger, a core skill in NSW Year 7 maths (NESA outcome MA4‑INT‑C‑01). The number further right on a number line is always the greater one, so \(-2\) is greater than \(-20\) even though \(20\) is bigger than \(2\).
You will use the less than (\(\lt\)) and greater than (\(\gt\)) symbols, arrange sets of integers in ascending and descending order, and count how many integers lie between two values. Tables of winter temperatures and places below sea level give real data to sort, from coldest to warmest. It is part of Year 7 Integers.
